Durham & Newcastle
Last weekend, My friends and I went to Durham together. We left last Saturday in haste, becasue I must attended morning lectures, packed a trunk, attended golf coaching classes in the afternoon and caught the five o'clock train. We came back this Monday night, spending 2 days 2 nights there. A friend of my classmate is studying at the University of Durham and she invited us to live with her, saving the accomodation fees for shopping. She is considerate, isn't she :)
Itinerary: Oct 14 St Andrews (16:30)-> Leuchars Train Station (17:45) -> Edinburgh train station -> Durham (21:00) Oct 15 Durham; Oct 16 Durham (10:00)-> Newcastle Newcastle(18:58)-> Leuchars(22:30)-> St Andrews (22:50) 25 pounds for two-way train tickets
Different from St Andrews, Durham scenery is more english, with trees and hills. At the first day, we were so lucky to meet up with a Candlelit Procession held by the famous Durham Cathedral Church of Christ for the freshmen. We're all moved by the magnifience of the historic shrine.

The second day was spent in Newcastle. Similar with Glasgow, Newcastle is big. I've seen loads of shops, the entertaining steets and the people - a most bewildering place. We walked a lot but with no friutful results, what I bought are only a golf glove, a cushion, a sport bottle. I don't quite feel satisfying. But I am glad to get back to college and my novels. It's a pleasant senstion to come back to something familiar and the atmosphere of calm I find more bracing than Newcastle, or Glasgow, or other big cities. I think I am beginning to feel at home in college. If can study without homework, that will be perfect. :D
